This handsome Arts and Crats oak chair was in such a sad state it was basically given to me at a garage sale. No one could look past the deteriorating finish or the obviously necessary repairs to see the beautiful quartersawn oak beneath. After being stripped and sanded completely down, and after a few (or many) minor repairs, it was time to select a stain. Of course I went with a classic shade by General Finishes, Antique Walnut Gel Stain. The chair was then sealed with General Finishes Satin Wipe On Polyurethane for a hand-rubbed, antiqued patina.
