This buffet has everything that makes my heart happy... Simple, yet elegant details and amazing legs!
Pitch Black Old Fashioned Milk Paint was used as a base coat on the body and then purposefully distressed. General Finishes Java Gel Stain was applied with thin strokes and immediately wiped away, creating almost a wash effect. Those gorgeous legs were brought back to life with GF Java Gel Stain. The entire piece was sealed and protected for years to come with HPTC in satin by General Finishes.
The process resulted in a stunning piece that appears black in some lighting and a rich, deep espresso in others all while highlighting the lovely details.
I chose antique wooden knobs I had salvaged from another project because they mimicked the curves of those fabulous legs... and my client loved them!
This beauty now has a new lease on life and serves not only as a functional piece of furniture, but also as a statement piece in its owner's home.
