It was a Sunday afternoon and I found myself at the end of a weekend-long estate sale somewhere in Maryland. The barter-weary employees had slashed the prices to 50% off on all the leftover pieces of furniture, dishes, old books, VHS tapes, decor, etc. I turned the corner to find two of the most potential-packed and hideous chairs I had seen in a while. I looked wearily at the chairs... wondering if I should dare sit on the dusty fabric to try them out. I did (good thing skin is washable!). It was at that moment I knew they would be an awesome flip! I snagged the chairs for $3 each and took them home!
I began by stripping, disassembling, and sanding the chairs. I then stained the wood with the oh-so-incredible General Finishes (GF) Java Gel Stain. I topped the gel stain with 3 coats of GF High Performance Top Coat to ensure the beautiful new wood was well protected. I recovered the chairs and pieced everything back together. For under $35 I brought these twin accent chairs to life. These chairs are solid wood and well made. I couldn't be happier with their new look!
