Aileen Hogan is a leading authority in the world of Upcycling in her native country of Ireland. Having started out as a hobbyist painter, she quickly saw the potential for a sustainable business in the expanding market of furniture restyling. After developing an extensive range of decorative furniture mouldings, which she now ships worldwide, she opened her pretty little shop in her local town of Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary. Aileen was one of the first to bring GF products to the Irish market and now ships to every corner of the country from her website www.shabby.ie. Aileen brings the Irish community of Upcyclers together through her very popular Facebook groups, group training days, demonstration days and her online training program 'The Upcyclers Club'. She has now started mentoring fellow small business owners and cottage industry upcyclers, to dream the dream and follow her in creating their own success story.
She says ' I owe a lot of my success to my close involvement with General Finishes and the exceptional products they produce. I am thrilled to be asked to participate in this year’s competition and look forward to seeing the wonderful creations from our entrants'
